FAQ: How to Calculate Displacement Length
1.Determine Key Values: Find the inner wheel perimeter and the resolution of your purchased sensor. For example, the BRT38-0.5M model has a range of 500mm and a resolution of 4096 pulses per revolution (PPR).
2. Record Position Values: During use, note the position values from the sensor before and after pulling the rope. Let’s call these values X1 (initial position) and X2 (final position).
Method 1:For the BRT38-0.5M sensor (500mm range, 4096 PPR) and a wheel diameter of 100mm, use this formula:
Length = (X2 – X1) * 100 / 4096 mm.
Method 2:Alternatively, using the actual resolution of the BRT38-0.5M, which is 0.0244mm, the formula is:
Length = (X2 – X1) * 0.0244 mm.
This method allows you to easily calculate the displacement length based on your specific sensor model.
